A 52-year-old man has revealed how a new Parkinson’s drug has changed his life after sharing a video that shows the before & after effects. Damien Gath became the first patient in East Midlands, England to try the new drug Produodopa. Before beginning treatment with the breakthrough drug, Gaths wife recorded the 52-year-old struggling to stir his drink as his tremors and other symptoms made it difficult for him to grab the spoon and remain in place.Days later, Gath, was walking around the kitchen with ease. He grabbed milk from the refrigerator and poured it into his mug before he stirred the drink without any issues, as the water bottle-sized pump hung on his belt. Gath, who was first diagnosed with Parkinsons 12 years ago, has been under the care of Sherwood Forest Hospitals since 2016 and received his first Produodopa treatment in July, according to the English healthcare system     View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial) Produodopa or Foslevodopa-Foscarbidopa is a continuous infusion therapy recommended for patients with advanced Parkinsons disease who experience severe changes in their movement abilities, and for whom standard Parkinsons medications no longer offer sufficient relief. “I almost can’t believe that’s me in the video,” Gath said to the BBC. For the last three years, I have been shaking uncontrollably for two to three hours a day. “It’s early days but now I shake for five or 10 minutes a day.””It’s been extraordinary and life-changing just shortly after first having the treatment, I was able to make a cup of coffee more easily. “I can start to think about getting back to a normal life.”  The post Amazing transformation of dad with Parkinsons disease before and after taking breakthrough drug (video) appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
