Fire guts Sokoto police command

A fire broke out on Saturday, September 14, at the Sokoto State Police Command, destroying several key offices within the one-story administration block.  The blaze, which started around 5am, gutted the offices of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, the Chief Imam of the Command, and the Chaplain. The commands spokesperson, ASP Ahmad Rufai, confirmed the incident to reporters. “Some offices were razed down by the inferno, which include: the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Administration; the confidential office and that of the Chief Imam of the Command,” he stated. Rufai also mentioned that the fire destroyed the Chaplains office and the Chief Superintendent’s office in the administrative section. Despite the damage, he assured the public that there were no injuries or fatalities. He ruled out foul play, stating that the affected section was unoccupied at the time of the incident. “But investigation is ongoing to unravel the cause of the fire and the level of damage it caused,” Rufai added. The post Fire guts Sokoto police command appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
